One country wraps a ball of plastic mesh around a bar of soap. The other reaches for something about four feet long. Only one of them can actually wash a back.

1. Add your regular body wash. The weave lathers hard, so you need less of it than you think.
2. Grab both ends. One hand up over the shoulder, one hand down at the opposite hip.
3. Scrub back and forth. The length does the reaching, so your shoulders do not have to.

Rinse it, hang it, and it is dry before your next shower. One side is firmer for your back, shoulders and feet. The other is gentler, for skin that cannot take a hard scrub.

One honest thing before you buy

It takes a few showers to get the hang of. The most common complaint in our four star reviews is that the towel rolls up on itself the first couple of times you draw it across your back. Karen Cooper put it plainly: “There is definitely a learning curve, at least for me, for this product. But when you get it, it’s great.”

Hold it taut and keep your hands apart. By the third shower you will not think about it again. We would rather tell you now than have you give up on day one.
